All ESRF staff, CRG staff, or visitors/cybervisitors with valid ESRF accounts can use these methods.

1) Accessing your Windows PC from outside

Via a device called the SSL gateway, it is possible to connect from a Windows PC at home or in mission to a Windows PC located inside ESRF, using the Windows Remote Desktop. Please follow the left-hand menu "Accessing experimental data".

2) Connecting to NICE from outside

Please note that exporting data is possible by first connecting to NICE and then exporting data via ftp/scp. The NICE infrastructure (or other UNIX computers) can be accessed through either SSH or NX.  Please follow the left-hand menu "Accessing experimental data".

3) Reading your email

Either via Webmail (only a Web browser is necessary) or Transparent (ex. using Thunderbird). Please follow the left-hand menu "Accessing your ESRF email".

4) Accessing internal resources a.k.a. the ESRF Intranet

Via the SSL gateway, it is possible to access the ESRF Intranet: either browsing the Intranet Web sites or sharing Windows files. However, several applications – Absence, MaGELLAN, Calendar - have a different access. Please follow the left-hand menu "Accessing the ESRF Intranet".

5) Making data available to outside collaborators

Connecting to the FTP server using either a web browser or a FTP client from any Windows, Unix or Unix-like computer. Please follow the left-hand menu "Accessing experimental data".
